American Studies Program

Course Description

This ESL program is designed for advanced English language learners looking to enhance their comprehension and production of the language. Students engage in discussions and critical thinking while exploring essential topics such as business communication, American film, culture, history, and literature. Each course integrates all four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Program Courses:

  • American Film and Conversation: Engage in discussions on cinematic history, genres, and storytelling techniques.
  • American Literature: Analyze significant works, themes, and literary movements in American history.
  • American Culture and History: Explore major cultural shifts and historical events that shaped the U.S.
  • Business English: Develop practical communication skills for professional and global business settings.

Business English (Part A & B)

In today’s globalized world, mastering business communication is essential. This course focuses on the language skills necessary for different business contexts, helping students improve their ability to network, negotiate, and collaborate in English-speaking environments. The course is divided into two sessions and two parts: Part one covers International Business, and Part two explores American Film, Culture & History.

  • $1,230.00 USD
  • 106 hrs. instruction

Prerequisite:

  • Students must have completed Level 7 or demonstrate equivalent proficiency.
  • Permission from the English Department Chair is required for admission.

Students with F-1 visas must enroll in all four courses to maintain legal status in the U.S. Non-visa holders have the flexibility to register for one or more classes.
