  • Disponible para ofrecer clases presenciales entre las 9:00 a.m. a las 2:00 p.m.
  • Experiencia enseñando cursos de español para adultos
  • Dinámico, creativo; entusiasta de la enseñanza del español
  • Dominio de plataformas digitales de enseñanza (Zoom, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, fostering an engaging learning environment, and supporting the academic growth of learners. This role requires a commitment to educational excellence and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective curriculum and instructional materials that align with UNAM San Antonio educational standards.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and activities that promote critical thinking and active learning.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, guiding them in their educational journey.
  • Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful and productive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with developments in the field and integrate findings into teaching practices.
  • Assess student performance through various evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with faculty members on curriculum development and instructional design initiatives.
  • Support adult education programs by adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of adult learners.

Skills

  • Strong background in higher education teaching with experience in classroom management.
  • Proficient in curriculum development and instructional design methodologies.
  • Ability to educate diverse student populations effectively, utilizing various teaching strategies.
  • Excellent mentoring skills, fostering positive relationships with students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Knowledge of current techniques relevant to educational practices and curriculum enhancement.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to teach diverse students an array of English Language skills, i.e. grammar, conversational English, and Academic reading & writing.

Qualifications

  • University degree in relevant field
  • Teaching experience in higher education or adult community education
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and classroom management
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technology
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
  • Experience in adult education and instructional design
  • Ability to effectively plan and deliver lessons
  • Academic advising experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Texas Adult Content Standard and Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is a plus
