Workshop: Mastering the Spanish Language Pronunciation
Course Description
This intensive 15-hour workshop is designed to help learners of Spanish conquer the challenges of Spanish pronunciation. Through focused practice and expert guidance, participants will develop the skills to speak Spanish with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
Prerequisite: Completion of Spanish 2 or equivalent knowledge. A required written and oral placement test is needed to determine proficiency level.
IMPORTANT AREAS
Phonetic Foundations:
- Mastering the unique sounds of Spanish, including the rolled “r,” the soft “j,” and the distinctive vowels.
Syllable Stress and Intonation:
- Learning the rules of syllable stress and intonation patterns in Spanish.
- Practicing rhythm and melody to achieve natural-sounding speech.
Common Pronunciation Pitfalls:
- Identifying and correcting common pronunciation mistakes made by English speakers.
- Developing strategies to overcome pronunciation challenges.
Difficult Words and Phrases:
- Breaking down complex words and phrases into manageable components.
- Practicing tongue twisters and challenging pronunciations
