This advanced course is designed to prepare students for the international standard of the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)<\/strong> test and covers the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students will be introduced to strategies and techniques for approaching the various question types and managing the time limits of each section of the TOEFL test. While this course may review grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, it is not designed to improve a student\u2019s ability to speak or comprehend English, but rather to utilize existing English skills to achieve the highest score possible on the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students must be Level 8<\/strong> or possess equivalent knowledge. Permission from the English Department Chair<\/strong> is required for admission to this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Notice:<\/strong> These tests use a scaled scoring system and provide an estimated score<\/strong> for the official TOEFL exam. They are designed to assess your strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the official TOEFL exam. Results cannot be used for university entrance applications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n This section focuses on the areas of listening and speaking<\/strong> in both independent and integrated formats.
