Admissions: <\/span><\/strong>New students must be 18 years or older, complete an online application, and tuition payment. After payment has been received, a required placement test will be administered to determine the appropriate placement level for language courses.<\/p>\r\n Payment<\/span> options:<\/span> <\/strong>Payment can be made by credit\/debit card (either at the school or through the Student Portal), cash, or check (a returned check fee will be $40.00).<\/p>\r\n Payment<\/span> Plan<\/span> (not<\/span> applicable<\/span> for<\/span> student<\/span> visa<\/span> holders):<\/span><\/strong> Upon approval, a payment arrangement is available for students registered in full-time courses only (75 hours or more). The first payment will be due immediately, and the second will be scheduled to be charged automatically by credit card only and kept on file until the payment commitment is fulfilled. UNAM-San Antonio does not allow students to enter our programs until payment has been received. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they follow through with any payment agreement made, whether they attend classes or not.<\/p>\r\n Books:<\/span><\/strong> Students<\/span> are<\/span> required<\/span> to<\/span> have<\/span> books<\/span> for<\/span> their<\/span> classes <\/span>no<\/span> later<\/span> than<\/span> the<\/span> end<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> first<\/span> week<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> session.<\/span><\/p>\r\n Attendance:<\/span> <\/strong>A 90% attendance rate in each class is required to be eligible to take the final exam. Attendance is recorded on an hourly basis, and students are required to sign in upon arrival.<\/p>\r\n Unexcused absences are not permitted; however, it is the student\u2019s responsibility to catch up on their studies. Excused absences are permissible and will not count toward your attendance; however, it is the student\u2019s responsibility to make up any work with their instructor. Excused absences will be granted at the discretion of the instructor and the English Department. (Please see the Student Handbook for a detailed explanation.)<\/p>\r\n Expulsion:<\/span><\/strong> Any student who consistently violates the institution\u2019s rules governing student conduct, attendance, and tardiness will be subject to disciplinary action, including a one-on-one conference with the English Department Chair, which could potentially lead to expulsion.
