After payment has been received, a required placement test will be administered to determine the appropriate placement level for language courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Payment options:<\/strong>&nbsp;Payment can be made by credit\/debit card (either at the school or through the Student Portal), cash, or check (a returned check fee will be $40.00).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Payment Plan (not applicable for student visa holders):<\/strong>&nbsp;Upon approval, a payment arrangement is available for students registered in full-time courses only (75 hours or more). The&nbsp;<strong>first payment will be due immediately<\/strong>, and the second will be scheduled to be charged automatically by credit card only and kept on file until the payment commitment is fulfilled.&nbsp;<strong>UNAM-San Antonio does not allow students to enter our programs until payment has been received<\/strong>. It is the responsibility of the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>student to ensure that they follow through with any payment agreement made, whether they attend classes or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UPON PAYMENT, STUDENTS ACKNOWLEDGE ALL POLICIES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF UNAM-SAN ANTONIO ENGLISH DEPARTMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Books:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students are required to have books for their classes&nbsp;<strong>no later than the end of the first week of the session.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Attendance:<\/strong>&nbsp;90% attendance in each class is required to be eligible to take the final exam. Attendance is taken&nbsp;on an hourly basis and students are required to sign in at the time of arrival. Unexcused absences are not permitted; however, it is the student&#8217;s responsibility to catch up on his\/her studies. Excused absences are permissible and will not count towards your attendance, however, it is the student\u2019s responsibility to make-up work with their instructor. Excused absences will be given at the discretion of the instructor and the English Department. All policies for admission and expulsion are located in the Student Handbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*UNAM-San Antonio is open to all people and does not discriminate on any basis prohibited by law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For over 80 years, UNAM-San Antonio has considered its English language instruction one of its most important assets of academic excellence.<\/strong>&nbsp;Learning English as a second language is one of the core virtues of the English Department, as are our English teachers. Therefore, out of respect for our teachers and students committed to learning a new language, UNAM-San Antonio has the following policies regarding class and\/or teacher changes, course\/class cancellations, withdrawals, and refunds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REGISTRATION OPENS 30 DAYS BEFORE THE START OF EACH SESSION ONLINE. PLEASE REFER TO THE REGISTRATION DATES AND TIMES FOR IN-PERSON REGISTRATION. BE ADVISED THAT THE LAST DAY FOR IN-PERSON REGISTRATION IS ALSO THE LAST DAY TO REQUEST A REFUND. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DECIDE TO DROP A COURSE AFTER THE REFUND DEADLINE, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU ATTENDED CLASS, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND. WITH THIS IN MIND, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UNAM-SAN ANTONIO RESERVES THE RIGHT OF ADMISSION, ENSURING THAT ALL APPLICANTS MEET THE NECESSARY CRITERIA FOR LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE FOR BOTH ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALL LEVELS AND TEACHERS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT ONCE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS HAS CONCLUDED.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ONCE PAYMENT IS MADE, THE STUDENT IS SUBJECT TO ALL POLICIES, TERMS, AND CONDITIONS OF UNAM-SAN ANTONIO.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COURSE, CLASS, OR LEVEL CHANGES:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students wishing to add or change a course, class, or level must submit a written petition and obtain authorization from the English Department no later than three (3) business days after the course begins. The decision to accept or reject a student\u2019s request to change or add a course&nbsp;<strong>rests solely with the English Department and is final.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COURSE, CLASS, OR LEVEL CANCELATION:<\/strong>&nbsp;In the event that a class does not meet the minimum number of students established by the school, or for any other reason the English Department does not open a course, applicants will be reimbursed 100% of their tuition. Please allow<strong>&nbsp;5 to 7 business days for processing (refer to the REFUND POLICY).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COURSE DROP PROCEDURE:<\/strong>&nbsp;A student must submit an official written request to both Student Services and the English Department to drop a course. It is&nbsp;<strong>the student\u2019s responsibility<\/strong>&nbsp;to ensure that these written requests are submitted directly to Student Services for processing in their student records.
